The Weight Loss Habits I Still Use
Published about 2 months ago • 3 min read
Hi Reader!
In May 2022 I started a weightloss journey to lose the weight I gained during the pandemic. And after 12 months, I lost 25 pounds and have been able to keep 20 pounds of it off (stubborn 5 pounds came back lol). I'm proud of my journey and I learned a lot that I want to share with you in case you're on a similar journey in 2026. No extremes, no cutting out food groups, just habits I could actually stick with and some recipes I rely on!

These 3 things made the biggest difference for me:
- I started eating vegetables with every meal, even breakfast. Nothing fancy. Spinach in smoothies, mushrooms with eggs, tomatoes on cottage cheese toast. It helped with fiber, energy, and staying full longer.
- I made protein a priority at every meal. Not obsessively, just consistently and trying to hit between 20-30g at every meal. It kept me satisfied and helped curb constant snacking. A lot of Feel Good Foodie recipes are built this way because it’s how I really eat.
- I moved my body 6 days a week. Walking, running, strength training. Some weeks were better than others, but staying consistent mattered more than being perfect.

What really made this sustainable was simplifying my routine. I repeated breakfasts, leaned on soups and salads for lunch, and planned dinners once a week. That’s exactly how the Feel Good Foodie meal plans started.
If you’re not already following me on Instagram, I’m sharing the exact meal plans I make each week. You can also click below to sign up for weekly meal plans to be sent straight to you. Each one includes 5 dinner ideas, a snack or dessert, and a full grocery list.
